since i see people around here spreading false information about johnny depp and winona ryder, their respective ages and the age gap between them two, let me just debunk that shit.

i’ve seen people saying he “groomed a minor” and i’ve seen people say that he was 10 years her senior. i’ve seen people claim that she was 19 when they broke up, etc. etc.

winona ryder was born in 1971.
johnny depp was born in 1963.

he is 8 years her senior, not 10.

the first time they crossed paths was june 30th 1989 at the movie premiere of “great balls of fire” however they didn’t actually meet or talk that night. they merely saw one another.

several months later - which is placing us in either of the autumn months - they met again and got around to talk and get to know one another. he asked her on a first date and in the time following that they quickly became a couple.

winona ryder turned 18 in 1989.
johnny depp turned 26 in 1989.

since her birthday is in october, who knows what “several months later” means? they could’ve easily not properly met till she was 18 years old and therefore of age.

they broke up in 1993 after 4 years of dating and eventual engagement.

winona ryder was 21, turning 22, in 1993.
johnny depp was 29, turning 30, in 1993.

in conclusion, winona and johnny were both very much consenting partners to one another, and they were both of age during their years of dating. the specific dates of when they met each other, went on that first date, and actually became a couple are all private and not our business anyway. if winona at any point in their relationship was 17 then it was very briefly in the very beginning.

winona supports johnny and they’ve both always had great love for one another.  winona supports him against amber heard. they both consented to the relationship they had back then. he didn’t “groom” her, and if you seriously believe that he did, then you need to go read up on the definition of grooming, ‘cause that is not what happened between winona and johnny.

think of the age gap what you want, you’re free to do that, but stop spreading false information about this just because you’re team ambuser or whatever.

I think the funniest thing about people who support amber heard is the sheer amount of shit they can ignore.
